Srinagar, Jun 28 (KNO): National Conference President, Member of Parliament from Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Vice President Mr. Omar Abdullah on Monday condemned the killing of a special police officer and two of his family members in Hariparigam Tral area of Pulwama.
Condemning the reprehensible act of violence, Dr Farooq in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, “The heart wrenching mindless violence has saddened me. Such barbarism should be denounced downrightly at all levels. I condemn the attack in unequivocal terms; there is no place for such barbarism in today’s emancipated world. The perpetrators of the blood bath have shattered the dreams of yet another family, yet another childhood has been lost. I pray for peace to those whose precious lives were devoured in the incident,” he added.
Party Vice President, Omar Abdullah while coming out heavily against the gruesome killings said, “I unreservedly condemn the dastardly and cowardly militant attack on the J&K police SPO Fayaz Ahmed, his wife, and his young daughter at their home last night. I pray they receive their place in Jannat and their bereaved loved ones forbearance during this terrible time.”
Meanwhile Party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Party MP Hasnain Masoodi, Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar, YNC PP Salman Ali Sagar have also condemned the attack and expressed sympathies with the kith and kin of the victims. The functionaries have expressed unison with the bereaved during this difficult period.
Former chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti condemned the killing of a cop, his wife and daughter.
“No words are strong enough to condemn the cowardly attack in Awantipora that claimed the lives of a JKP officer Fayaz Ahmad, his wife & daughter. May Allah Ta’aala grant them maghfirat & their loved ones the fortitude to bear this loss,” Mehbooba tweeted.
Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (JKPC) also condemned the recent violence in Barbarshah Srinagar and in south Kashmir, terming such incidents senseless and ruthlessly menacing.
In a statement, former legislator and senior PC leader Mohammad Khurshid Alam has said that the killing of a civilian in Babarshah and wounding of several others has been shocking for one and all and while the wounds inflicted by such a mindless violence were still reeking, gruesome episode happened in Hariparigam, South Kashmir in which a police personal and his family members were brutally killed.
“Such incidents are condemnable to the core and can never be justified. How could the murder of innocent civilians including women and children be justified? For any tolerant society, such actions will always remain unjustifiable, illegal and illegitimate. Our heart goes out to the victims of this terror and their families. May Allah be with them at this hour of immense grief. We all are in fact grieving over such excruciating scenes,” Alam said—(KNO)
